In Maro we have several playgrounds where, while children play and make friends, parents can keep an eye on them with peace of mind.

We return to the old customs and we have several ice cream trucks, which circulate regularly through each of the parks in Maro.

Tere are many  places to spend with the family, such as the zoo that we can find at the entrance to Maro, one kilometer from the center. If you want to opt for something more refreshing, we recommend you visit our water park, with very affordable prices (discount if you come with your family).

Another highly demanded activity these years by citizens has been renting bicycles to go around our great city in unlimited time, and this year we have done it! They have several establishments with bicycle rental, both normal and electric, for a splendid day with parents, children, grandparents,…

  • The cliffs of Maro: This Natural Park is a spectacle of nature. It offers a rugges landscape where small coves and cliffs altérnate with cultivated terraced areas. The huge wealth of its fauna and flora is plain to see, an area ideal to enjoy diving. On clear days, the coast of Africa could be seen and enjoy the breath taking views offered up by one of its viewing points.

 

  • Iglesia Nuestra Señora de las Maravillas: This church was completed in the seventeenth century, a wooden frame covers its sole nave. Outside stands the tower, topped by a piramidal spire and a belfry.

 

  • Ingenio de Maro or de Armengol: This sugarmill was built in 1585 to boost the sugarcane industry. A fire in the sixties of the nineteenth century brought its activity to a halt, but much of the original work remains.

 

  • Acueducto Águila: This aqueduct was built between 1879 and 1880 on the Maro River to supply water to the San Joaquín sugar factory in the Mercedes Settlement.
